The Happy Years! :)
What is Bullnettle? Well, the official definition is a common Texas cow pasture weed. But to us, it was our college band. It's a mean, tough looking plant that if you are unfortunate to mess with will leave you itching and scratching. I guess kind of like our music...it has to grow on you.

Josh was the heartbeat of Bullnettle. His bass led us on musical journeys. On some of the recordings you can hear Josh counting us down. Not your typical bass player, Josh was all over the fret board. His bass playing was just amazing and touched me then and now. It was a pure joy to play music with him, just like so many have described.

This tape was recorded in the winter of '93 after playing a few months together. For the recording, we placed my old Sony boom box in the middle of the room, stuck a microphone into the mic jack and clicked record on a flimsy cassette tape. Over a decade later, we found the lost Bullenettle tape from that night.

Special thanks to Doug Wilson, who helped me digitize this tape by recording off his computer's soundcard to wav. Enjoy and try to keep up with Josh on the bass.
